BLUE CROSS International Student Plan
The Foreign Students Medical Plan through Ontario Blue Cross must be purchased prior to arrival in Canada or within 30 days of arrival in Canada.
A 72-hour waiting period applies if coverage is purchased after arrival into Canada. Therefore, we highly recommend that you purchase coverage prior to arrival in Canada.
This is a customized plan for international students under the age of 50 who are attending an educational institution full-time or who are a duly registered student. The applicant must read and understand the declaration of health. A declaration form is available by email or fax.
Proof of registration from the educational institution is also required.
Coverage is available for up to 366 days
Coverage amount is $100,000
Coverage is available for single students, married students, and families moving abroad with the student.

The premium is refundable in its entirety before the effective date. For early returns (departure from Canada) before the end of coverage, the premium is refundable for the portion of unused days if no claim has been submitted. Administration fees of $25 per contract will be retained by Ontario Blue Cross.
